girlfriend. are an experimental & alternative post-hardcore band based between Dublin and Limerick in Ireland, consisting of Hana Lamari, Sophie Dunne, Eilis Mahon, and Robyn Avery. Channeling the ferocity of early grunge and the vulnerability of slowcore, the band mixes indie rock and emo influences to craft a unique sound.
girlfriend. released their debut album 'To Be Quiet' on Halloween 2023, which featured singles 'Repent', 'Trust' and 'In Silence’, with Hot Press declaring it “an affirmation of life”. girlfriend. have played shows with the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Just Mustard, Divide and Dissolve - as well as festivals in Ireland (Electric Picnic, Musictown) and further afield (Manchester Punk Festival, Other Voices Cardigan).
Almost a decade after their formation, girlfriend. are preparing to release their second LP, Carousel, in 2026. Across ten tracks, girlfriend. traverses hardcore, grungegaze and alt rock with authenticity, expanding on the mission statement of energy and catharsis set out in their debut. The album delivers their signature blend of tenderness and feral energy that sets them apart from the rest.
